KSIA Members:
Early Wednesday afternoon (03/15/06), the House passed SB 461 on a vote of 67-56!!! Thank you to all KSIA members who responded to our action alert and contacted their Representative!!!! The vote was VERY close, and every effort helped. This culminates two solid months of hard work, but we’re not done yet. The Governor has threatened to veto this bill, and we don’t have enough votes to override her veto. We are trying to generate pressure on the Governor to sign the bill. PLEASE CALL THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE AND ASK HER TO SIGN SB 461 IN TO LAW! Governor Kathleen Sebelius can be reached at 785-296-3232.
