TIP OF THE WEEK

                                                                    December 31, 2009

Did you know...?

Holiday cab runs through tonight - New Years Eve 2009/2010

If you're going out and planning on having a cocktail or two this holiday season make sure you take this number with you, 816-777-1115.   It's the number to Holiday Cab, which will pay for the first $25 of your ride home.  Hours are 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

The program helps keeps roads safer during the holiday season by offering discounted cab rides home for people who've been drinking at a public restaurant or bar.  The program only provides rides to people's homes, not another bar or restaurant.  It's the 27th year for the Holiday Cab program in Kansas City.  Since the program started, more than 25,000 discounted cab rides have been provided.

An alcohol-related motor vehicle crash kills someone in the United States every 31 minutes and injures someone every two minutes.  During the holiday season, the roads become even more dangerous.  Parties and festivities make the period between Christmas and New Year's Day the most deadly season when it comes to alcohol-related crashes.  Alcohol and drug related crashes can be prevented.  This holiday season and throughout the year, make a commitment to avoid driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and stop others from doing the same.  Take advantage of the Holiday Cab program if you have too much to drink and help make this year’s Holiday a Safe and Happy one!

OHS-COMPCARE would like to wish you and your family a Safe and Happy New Year!
